Skipper Joe Osborne took 2 wickets and top scored for his side with 37
Braintree's Sunday side travelled to Woodham Mortimer with mix of experience and youth, including 2 senior debutants in Harrison McBride and Corbyn MacLeod.
On a pitch used on the previous day there was a some indifferent bounce which Braintree's bowlers exploited early on have won the toss and inserted their opposition who were soon in trouble at 29-3 as Lucas Hale and Joe Osborne got amongst the top order.
Muhammed Nasir and Attaullah Nasari settled the innings and then began to exploit some tiny boundaries as they both retired at 50. This slowed the run rate down and allowed Lyra MacLeod to settle into her work as she took 3-24, troubling all that came before her with her left arm spin.
Having restricted the lower order the retired pair eventually returned an increased the rate but, having dispatched the returning Hale Junior into the woods, Nasir was comprehensively cleaned up for 93 by the young quick who showed his Hale genes with a comprehensive send off having been mocked by the spectators the previous ball.
Braintree were set a target of 249 and didn't really threaten as they struggled to get to grips with the slow, low surface. Joe Osborne (37) Dave Hale (35) and Callum MacLeod (30) all got a start but it need one of them to kick on although they'll all be grateful for some early season time at the crease with big league games coming up this weekend.
A touching moment saw Corbyn and Lyra MacLeod share the crease for a while with Lyra keeping the opposition at bay for 36 balls, topping off an excellent performance, before she became the final wicket to fall at 187.
