Braintree's U13's were thwarted by the weather as they travelled to West Bergholt looking for their first win of the season. Having been inserted into bat Braintree trialed a new opening pairing with Lucas Hale and Bertie Burnside heading to the middle as Will Sherry was away on District duty. They got Braintree off to a solid start ticking the scoreboard over nicely and assessing the conditions before both started to hit regular boundaries. Hale was asked to retire on 30 which gave Tyler Dyer an opportunity at 3 but, having moved the score to 82-0 from 11.5 overs, and in a position to post a very challenging score, the heavens opened and the game was abandoned.
