Braintree's Under 13's finished their season off with a 4th consecutive win and now have to wait for other results to see if they will remain top of the league. Batting first, the prolific opening pair of Will Sherry and Lucas Hale put on 90 for the first wicket with both hitting sumptuous boundaries in the process. Hale was the only Braintree wicket to fall as he mistimed a straight driver to offer Jones and return catch for 38. Tyler Dyer and Will Sherry saw their side to 139 with Sherry finishing on 48 and Dyer 19.
Halstead's reply started well and, thanks to a couple of retirements from Judge (27) and Wells (9) they didn't lose their first wicket until the score had reached 97 when big hitting White was bowled by Harry Macklin for 23. Once he was out Halstead never looked like reaching their target and further wickets for Callum MacLeod and a first in the U13s for Hamish Mallison put the brakes on.
A great win for the lads and a fantastic winning run to close the season
