Braintree II's season came to a disappointing end as their game at Bury St Edmunds was cancelled after the pitch was deemed unplayable following a storm on Friday afternoon. It denied them the opportunity to overhaul Abberton in second place but as promotion had already been secured there was still cause for celebration at the traditional end of season bash!

Braintree ended with 14 wins from 22 games with 2 cancellations and 6 defeats and whilst Melton St Audrey's ran away with the league, it was always a going to go the wire in terms of that second position where they fell short by just 8 points with 318. In comparison to their previous season in Division 6 where they accumulated 226 points and were relegated on net run rate it represents a significant improvement back-to-back promotions see's a new challenge for next term.

Top performer with the bat this year was Dave Hale who scored 677 runs at 45.13 hitting 3 century's in the process and leading the way in the bowling department was Andrew Sherry with 20 wickets at 15.3. Josh Paget (19) and Geoff Eveling (18) not too far behind.

The memorable moment of the year was undoubtedly Dan Garners magnificent 195* again Mildenhall having shared a opening stand of 270 with Hale.
